Doing Business with Amtrak

You are not required to register or to be listed in the Amtrak Supplier Directory to conduct business with Amtrak; however, you are encouraged to register to facilitate the likelihood of your firm being included on bidder's lists for prospective Solicitations when requirements arise.

Amtrak Procurement's Objective:

In support of Amtrak's overall goal of providing quality inter-city and commuter services to the public, Amtrak Procurement objectives are as follows:

1. To promote full and open competition in the procurement of goods and services.

2. To procure quality goods and services in a reliable and timely manner at a reasonable cost.

3. To make positive efforts to utilize small business concerns [as defined by the Small Business Administration (SBA)] and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) in the procurement of goods and services in accordance with Amtrak's Policy.

4. To require all contractors and subcontractors to take affirmative action in their employment and contracting practices to ensure that applicants and employees are not discriminated against based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, veteran status, or national origin.


Procurement & Logistics (P&L) teams are headquartered in Philadelphia and are responsible for National Contracts for goods and services, including construction and construction services. The Transactional Purchasing functions are located at various field locations and are responsible for material and services that are unique to that location or region.
